WealthAsia announces Winners of The 2012 BENCHMARK Wealth Management Awards

The 2012 BENCHMARK Wealth Management Awards – Financial services institutions honored for the best achievements in the financial sector of Hong Kong.

Winners of the third annual BENCHMARK Wealth Management Awards have been announced in a gala dinner ceremony on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong. Best-in-Class awards in 24 industry best practice categories have been granted.
These are the institutions which, in our view, represent the best in Hong Kong. Join us in congratulating them and celebrating their accomplishments. The three-month competition that examined key aspects of the wealth management industry came to an exciting conclusion with the announcement of 44 awardees and BENCHMARK is pleased to announce this year’s 17 Best-in-Class and 21 Outstanding Achievers recipients. Company of the Year – Retail Bank went to Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, Company of the Year – Insurance went to ING Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited.

As the world of business and communications evolves in an increasingly digital world, so will the BENCHMARK Wealth Management Award. This year, social media capture, in the form of a “Brand Popularity Index” (BPI), was used to calculate 20% of the final score. This is in keeping with the increasing importance of social media in business. 6 Brand Popularity Awards have been granted to companies that have demonstrated the ability to connect with its customers through social media networking and other digital means.
As the coveted Individual titles, reflects the accomplishments of the winners as determined through a comprehensive set of criteria. These include: CEO of the Year - Retail Bank went to Anita Fung, Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. CEO of the Year-Insurance went to Roger Steel, CEO of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited. Career Achievement Award-Insurance went to Stuart Fraser, CEO of Ageas Insurance Company (Asia) Limited this year.
